About Us
Our Mission:   The mission of the Florence Area Community Coalition is to improve the quality of life in Western Lane County through partnerships, networking, volunteerism, community involvement, education and awareness.
Our Board: Sandy Young, President;  Sharon Hobart, Vice-President; Monica Kosman, Secretary;  Pamela Long, Treasurer;  Members at Large- Nancy Glines, Greg Wood, Linda Weight, and Dylan Huber-Heidorn.

When and where we meet:  General Coalition Meetings:  Siuslaw Public Library Bromley Room, 1460 9th Street, Florence, 9:00 am-10:30 am, 1st Wednesday of each month
Brief History: The F.A.C.C. has served as an umbrella organization for the following entities as they applied for their non-profit status:
  • Quality Child Care of Florence
  • Miller Park Skate Park
  • West Lane Translator (Community Radio)
  • Friends of Honeyman State Park
  • Siuslaw Education Foundation
  • Florence Farmers Market
Each year, FACC offers a scholarship to an outstanding student who demonstrates a commitment to volunteerism. The scholarship is open to Mapleton and Siuslaw high school seniors. The application is due by April 1. Scholarship applications are available through the school counselers.
The F.A.C.C. has collated and published a service directory listing social service agencies, government agencies, educational organizations and other organizations and agencies for many years.  This directory is now available on our web site.  Click here to view the service directory index.
